hi, ive been using bryce for years and now im trying to learn carrara. my local bookstore (barnes and noble) does not have the 2 books on carrara yet. so im kinda learning by myself at the moment. my question is about rendering. i must be doing something wrong because the images rendered just do not look like they should. my system is brand new and pretty good so its not that. fine art rendering in bryce looks beautiful but in carrar even when i select "best" it looks like crap i would say. anyone know what i might be missing in the settings? or do people usually export carrara art and render it somewhere else? any help would be most appreciated. thanks, brian

Well, Carrara usually renders well ... But not perfect, and there are bugs, too . So, depending, on the problem you have, there might be different solutions . I suggest you upload an image showing the problem . litst

Try Barnes and Noble online. You should be able to get a discount.

I had the same problem when I started out with Carrara. When you're in the Assemble room, go to the properties pallete on the right side of the screen, and select "scene" from the drop down list at the top. In the scene properties there are options for surface fidelity and effects fidelity. Set them both to best.
