Thanks pauljs75, I was wondering whether to use cherry panels or teak. That's a great reference. The engine is still in it but it's been exposed for who knows how long, may need to update it, the interior is no biggy, it'll be easy to fix......:) Sorry dB, I found it first, but you know, this graveyard is emense, there were other vehicles we just couldn't get to, including a stagecoach, and single horse rig....

A friend has one of these he takes to Ducks-R-us where his family(I guess the cabin is his now - has a cabin - not sure how that works own-lease-membership only??? ) its green though. When they're running right those things will go anywhere a Landcruiser will go. Well worth the expense! bikermouse is sooo jealous! make good surfboard transportation devices too, although I guess the only real surf around you is on the rivers! - TJ

It's a Willy's Wagon(jeep ca.194? to 1953), I also think, but I'm not sure yet that there's a 1937 or '38 Buick convertible, 2 dr. with rumble seat that's in this junk graveyard as well, this weekend we're gonna go and take a better look at the cars that are scattered about this ranchland...and offer the guy who owns the place a couple hundred for the woodie....

As long as the glass is intact, the rest can be restored easily. Lots of TLC. Great find Zhann. Keep us posted.

So..you'll re-build the hood in Wings3d? What .mats are you gonna use on the bodywork? There are a couple of tyre .mats around in the freestuff.... I'd cut back on the shadows of the trees to show off the bodywork more... Hope this helps! Chris

Zhann, Get the willys first - if nothing else you can restore and sell it(shoot I'd buy it if I were doing better and had the oppertunity.) . . . I don't think you will sell it once it's up and running - if you and Todd are mechanically inclined, it will be well worth your while as long as you don't get too carried away buying parts you can restore yourself - I.E. generators and starters you should be able to replace brushes and if the rotor is ok get it "turned" rather than buying a new one carb - clean and rebuild it; It sounds like you may need a new engine but tear it apart and mike it out first to be sure and check for cracks in the block etc. $200.00? If he goes for that he's pretty out of touch but here's hoping! - TJ

I'm thinking once it's restored we're not gonna let it go, not unless it's a great offer. Both Todd and I love antiques, things with history, and this is definitely an antique, and collectible from what I've been able to find out. Good advice on the engine, would be nice if it's in good condition, we were more worried about body rust on the floor, etc. I'll find out about price, etc. this friday.....

I know nothing about building and repairing antique cars but I really admire the work I've seem done on these older models. We get quite a lot of refurbished classics on the roads in the UK and they're always a pleasure to see. 8) Catlin

Ahh....learned to drive on a '52 or '54 Willy's jeep, back in the late 1970's. Or at least I started to learn to drive on it. I broke the rear axle in a parking lot and got to start learning on the VW Superbug we had then. Now whenever I see a Willy's I get very nostalgic. My dad built a cartop carrier for his and my mom's bedroom on top, and a bed inside for my sister and I. Then he built in cupboards for our cooking gear. It was quite the camping rig. Brings back memories. It took us up to Alaska and back, as well as many other places.

There used to be several good junk yards in Delta. I fished successfully for parts for Willys wagons -- and I mean a lot. We even salvaged wood strips out of one for the bed of one we were fixing up. I hope they're still there; it's worth a try. BTW, terrain looks familiar. Wish I were there.
