Im stuck I dont know where I shud go from here...any suggestions?

the monitor needs to be brighter or glow.raise the ambiance on the texture,or add a radial light in front of it to fake the monitor glow.A curtain in the window maybe?

add a square parallel light normal to the monitor face to bring up the apparent luminance of the display. Perhaps add a desk lamp to bring up more details of the desk/room.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

I agree you need more computer moniter and forground illumination, but I also think some kick-ass volumetric smoke effects could help for the lava. I see you've got the humor thing going with the irony of having a "lava" lamp and a "lava-spewing" volcano, so you might even go further and model a fire-estinguisher, which is quite easy, and make the moniter show a fire-safety website. Well that's all my input.
