Subject: What do you think the 5 most useful python scripts are?

Methastopholis ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 5:55 PM ยท edited Wed, 08 January 2025 at 1:46 PM

Just started to get into useing python a little more and was wondering what community thoughts were?

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 6:04 PM

Well, let's see, which ones do I use most? Ockham's mirror pose script Someone (probably Ockham or Bushi)'s light panel Someone's clean dial scripts (both "clean -" and "clean 0"). If someone could make one that would clean dials with no deltas injected, that would make my day (I'm not sure if that's even visible to Python, though.)

aprilrosanina ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 6:20 PM

I use Ockham's PoseGenie, and the LightPanel and DeleteLight scripts the most. The P5 MAT creator and MAT reset scripts are also excellent. I can't always remember who did which script, alas. :)

Methastopholis ( ) posted Thu, 15 July 2004 at 6:29 PM

I forgot to put my Fav python. 1 MKscripts materialize 2 resetlights 3.repeater 4.expolder.5 swap total frames

Anything by Bushi :) MagCloner and DeleteMag are the two I use daily.

Hey Swamp, where can I get the MakeArt script, I've been looking for one of those for years?! LOL I tend to use PoseGenie, DeleteLights, LightPanel, and the P5 MAT writer and MAT reset the most.

I use that one that saves easypose dials as regular bend twist and rotate settings. It's available on Ajax's rosity homepage.

See, I'd have chosen The Holy Grail, and The Meaning of Life followed by Life of Brian then The Dead Parrot sketch, and lastly Spam. Spam, Spam Spam Spam Spamitty Spam Spamiity Spam. Ni! Sorry.

Lucifer_The_Dark ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 5:01 AM ยท edited Fri, 16 July 2004 at 5:02 AM

LightMan1.52
Z-Flatten
PoseGenie
FaceRandomiser
SwapTotal

those are the first 5 I could think of straight away but all the scripts out there are just excellent, I'll give a big thank you to all the guys writing Python Scripts :)

Oh yeah the Dead Parrot has to be one of the best of all time, closely followed by the Ministry of Silly Walks :)

Ni!

i only use two regularly, a "delete all lights" script and that amazing User Interface script. now if it only had thumbnails.... ;) (sorry, i can't remember who made them)

elgyfu ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 7:08 AM

If I did not have the clear all lights one I would have thrown Poser in the bin by now! A wonderful little routine.

Lucifer_The_Dark ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 7:12 AM

yep the delete lights script comes in very handy when I'm using those free hdri lights from RDNA, deleting 20+ lights one by one takes so much time when I could be doing something useful.

underdog ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 9:41 AM

ditto what was said above: what is the MakeArt script? oh and I'm a Lumberjack song (not sure what script that is a part of)

xoconostle ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 1:07 PM

DeleteLights. That should have been built into Poser IMO, but since it wasn't, I sure am grateful for Ockham's script!

dlfurman ( ) posted Fri, 16 July 2004 at 1:55 PM

Top five? My top two are ZAP!IK and ZAP!ALLLIGHTS. The LightPanel would come in third. Not POSERing enough to really deal with the scripting.

It's nice to see that y'all have such favorites, and I can even figure out what some of them might do from their names. But where do I find them?

iggy23 ( ) posted Mon, 02 August 2004 at 3:41 PM

try looking on freestuff/propack, or looking through the posts in topic forums/poser python scripting (drop-down box on the left).
