Subject: need help with 3ds import to poser pro

How do i import a 3ds model to poser pro? Need help.

You just do file import 3ds, if you try with the default settings first you can see if anything needs changed. You might be better converting the 3ds to obj format before importing it to poser.

Thanks, but how do i convert 3ds to obj format? can you give me a step by step?

3DS to Poser import and export. You will need to download Habware's MAX2OBJ Plugin for your version of 3D studio. This plugin is free. Once you have the plugin follow these steps. To Export from 3D Studio. 1. Select the mesh you want to export and from the file menu choose "Export selected" 2. Choose OBJ format from the file of type drop down list and name the file. That's it. I'm interested in converting 3Ds to object format to save as a prop. First I have a PC. Second I do not have 3DS studio. I have Poser4 with Propack. Is it possible to import 3DS files into poser, combine several files and export them as an object. Then import them, and save them as a prop? I a little confused as to how to do it.

Phily - import the relevant .3ds files into poser, arrange them to your liking. Then select File>Export>OBJ and select all of the items for export as one file. Then make a new scene, import the obj file, scale and position it if necessary, and just add to the Props library. If you want to texture the props then you should your uv mapping before reimporting the obj file.

I like importing 3ds models into Poser much better than Obj files. The 3ds file does a better job with keeping the parts separate for texture or color. Even if the color is wrong you can select that part and change it. While a lot of Obj files are one big mesh. You have to group yourself.

Download this program (it's free), import 3ds, export obj..oh, and ignore the fact that it's a modeling program and you can make your own figures, clothes and props..;)

I tried it and it works, just importing it to pro as a 3ds file. but the parts do not work. It is imported as one whole thing. like the 54 jet . the landing gear does not retract
