Subject: To those of you who predicted my "Between Men" image would be yanked...

You were right. Received the [canned] message from hauksdottir informing me that my work violated the TOS. Thanks to those of you who looked at my image while it was available to look at, and offered constructive feedback and encouragement. I especially appreciate the member who pointed me to Rendervisions, which is a more suitable forum for sharing work that deals with topics that are considered risque by at least some of those who are in power here at Renderosity. I encourage those of you who did not see my image "Between Men" to check out my other gallery offerings...who knows how long they'll be available on this site?

Sorry to hear it got yanked. I thought the image was done with tasteful restraint. Let me know if/when you decide to post elsewhere.

Hey! That's art...You get the rules and boundaries and you stretch....that's also what makes it interesting. And it would be dull without rules...you only have to look at other sites. So don't be hurt. You did your job! Just overshot your stretch a tad... ,TwiceBitten

Thanks, richardson, for the good perspective. It's people like you and Samtherapy, and many others, who make this place worthwhile.

So what's the deal here, anyway? Shall we construe all nude male/male images to be "suggestive of sexual intercourse"?

I saw your image and I liked it a lot. I wonder why there isn't a category in the galleries here just for such images? That way, those who don't want to see them just have to stay clear of that category. NOTE: I don't do that kind of images... doesn't mean I don't like them! France

I didn't see the image, so I don't know where it might or might not have violated the TOS, but I'm now tempted to do some "guys embracing" images just to see for myself...

"I wonder why there isn't a category in the galleries here just for such images? That way, those who don't want to see them just have to stay clear of that category."

Renderotica has extensive filtering like that. It works extremely well. There are a few topics I do NOT want to see there (specifically, the sexually violent stuff; I'm not bothered by much, but that's just not something I want to look at), and I never have to see it at all. It's as if it doesn't even exist. Makes visiting Renderotica a much nicer experience (well, assuming you're into things of that sort).

Yes, well I meant more like all images with nudity should go in one category instead of having to mark it as such, you know? Same thing with violence, etc. Then for those who are at work, for example, they could wait to be at home before visiting those categories. ;o) France

It's a shame, but don't don't get discouraged. Your work is good :)

Yes, well I meant more like all images with nudity should go in one category instead of having to mark it as such, you know? Same thing with violence, etc. Same principle. You flag it to say what the content is, and then people who have chosen not to view nudity or religious images or, I dunno, Koshini pictures or whatever, never have to see them. It's a fine piece of code, which is probably why Renderosity hasn't implemented anything like it. >;-> bonni

Is there really a way to have a "no Koshini" option ??? And nobody told me ? How can i use it ? ;)

I'd also try GayPoserotica as a site for posting anything that doens't fit in the "American Family Values' pogrom ...errr ... program ps I'm not posting a link in the vain hope that a mere mention of the name won't get me scolded, whereas a direct link would be a definate no-no Lyrra

The New Roman Empire is going crazy... It's not only here: at Daz they want you to buy textures but you cannot even see what you buy. Hit them where it hurts: stop spending any more money, or let's all start creating fractals (no suggestive forms, please!) or abstract works.

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

I see no reason to limit my audience to special interest sites like Renderotica or Gayposerotica. The image they censored was not in my mind (and I am the creator, after all) erotic, nor was the content limited to a gay sensibility. Clearly, it was both gay and erotic in the minds of those who censored it. Their decision to censor reveals more about their own hangups than it reveals about the image. It's been a fascinating experience, and I am heartened by those who have expressed sympathetic opinions, as above. I will continue to purchase products from those who sell in the marketplace, because I care more about supporting the struggling artist than I care about harming the occassionally idiotic bureaucracy that governs this place.
