Hi all, I have a custommer who experiences a problem rendering one of my models with Poser5. As you can see on the picture some polygons appear to get a brownish color on their own, which doesn't happen in PP or P4. Does any one have a clue what is happening and how to fix it ? Thanks in advance !

BTW, Thanks Faveral for another incredibly detailed and excellent model. They are among the very best models I have ever owned and work really well in other 3D apps. Hope you find the P5 problem. I still use P4PP for nearly all my Poser render needs.

Faveral, do you have smooth polyglons on? I get that sometimes when I have it on in P5 on some models. You may want to turn it off on areas where you get the brown stuff. (you can turn it off individually on a bit in the parameter dials for that area) Also, try using a very small (0.001) setting on displacement. That sometimes helps. Hope this is of any use to you. If it doesn't work, try stopping over to runtimedna.com and posting it in their P5 section. There are some of the most excellent users in that forum, I'm sure someone will be able to help if you don't get any joy here :)

Hi Silke I am having the problem with Poser 5 and the brown in the canvas. I can load it in poser 4 and all is ok the same as faveral has shown in the pictures. I did try what you have suggested and still getting the brown in the canvas texture. I am fairly new with Poser 5 so it takes me a while to get it all figured out.

Sounds like the ol' Double-sided polygons issue...

faveral, take a look at the render: I connected the texture to the Displacement node and set it at 0.06. Renders fine in Firefly, default. BTW single side smoothing was on in this render.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

It worked perfectly for me with your instructions. Thanks.

Thank you all, Veritas, Silke, Valandar and nickedshield. You guys rock ! I'll make sure I stay away from double sided polygons in the future ! Thanks again ! Luc
