Jim,I was in the middle of an asnwer when this computer crashed. Again. Several crashes, restarts, cold boots, and a defrag or two later, I have forgotten most of what I wrote. If I was the architect of Hell, Billy-Boy would have his own floor! :< I'm not sure that I could cause him as much aggravation as he has caused me, but I'd have an eternity to find out.
:determined and not very nice grin:
Back to the subject....
This looks very, very good. I like the fillet: it looks regal as well as powerful. The sword gives options, and the matching stone in the pommel lets the wizardly power be focused in either staff or sword depending upon whatever story the artist wants to tell. The various skirt/kilt length means that he can be out in the wilds defending against the Fomor or in a well-protected keep. Choice is good.
Other stones of interest might be aventurine (a lovely sparkly green) and citrine (a wonderful yellow). I'd also like to suggest moonstone. The Moonstone Mage has a good flow to it, and the visual of a dark charcoal velvet cloak with a hint of silvery lining comes to mind. Romantic and powerful. If you have seen Galadriel's brooch from the movie, that sort of branching frame for the moonstone would be lovely, and the branches/leaves could be echoed in the brocade of his skirts. Grey eyes, of course. :)

Yikes! I really like that broach! I ~may~ be able to model it. I'm thinking of doing an add-on set for the David Fantasy. I called it quits after 7 texture sets for this package. The next seven will go in the add-on set. Everything is all done (whew). 5 conforming figures (chain necklace, harness, sandals, skirt, and cuffs) and 7 props (staff, sword, tooth necklace and earring, 2 headbands, and a dagger/dirk). Lots of textures, but I can definitly think of more. The centerpiece of the set is definitly the skirt though. 7 different drapeing morphs, 24 special fitting and posing morphs, flares, billows, trains, and a posing body handle. I think it's about the best thing I've ever done, and I think the next one will be even better. The add-on set will be themed I think. Something middle eastern, with a turban and pointy slippers. And something a little more barbarian celt, as opposed to the Scottish tartans I've included with the base set (both are variations of the MacBean tartan - blue and red). I may add a hood or a hooded cape to the add-on set too. More jewelery too. I also may add an African set to the Add-on pack. Dodger has promised to help me with an effect/magic sphere too. This set has been a long time in the works. I'm doing the promo shots and the sales text then submitting it on Monday at 8:00 AM. After the add-on set is done, and a set I'm working on for Seth (Dodger's Aeon teen), I'm going to do a SP3 fantasy set to match the one for David.
I should feel like a miserable guilty forlorn wretch... ...but I don't. :) The metalwork shouldn't be exact anyway, and this is gorgeous. I'm glad that you were inspired! {hug} I have to confess that I own that broach (which is how I knew where to find it). It is one of the loveliest pieces made. The stone in the reproduction is mother of pearl. It is easy to understand why the actors wanted to keep the clothing or swords or whatever after shooting stopped! I have some bits of silk, but need to design a costume suitable for it. I tried to scan it and some raw opals (that I just took out of mineral oil so they have a bit more color), but the scan is miserable. (My little one-touch has too much flare.) I'll try again tomorrow with some daylight in the room. I don't own any moonstones. In gemstones the color bands tend to be speckled or aligned (crystalline), rather than swirly all around. I don't have David or any generation 3 figure, but it looks like I may have to buy your sets just for the jewelry. Hmm... I bet Don could wear that skirt. Carolly
