Subject: Casting Shadows on Background Objects and Global Illumination

I noticed that the GI did not affect to the shadow that were catched with invisible objects in the scene, it remained 100% black. A light bulb was the only one in the scene with HDR for GI. I decreased the light bulb intensity to 30% and it made no difference on amount of shadow darkness. Any suggestion to decrease amount of shadow darkness? Thank you in advance.

Have you got Indirect Lighting turned on in the Render controls? If you haven't, try that.

Do you have a sample render to show what you are attempting to do?

Go to the effects tab on the bulb light and you will find shadow intensity slider and also soft shadows box.
