Subject: Making Clothes Fit and DAZ's Tailor 1.5...

I'm new to P5 and the world of 3D art and since most of my characters in P5 aren't built like Victoria Secret models, I'm having one hell of a time making clothes fit. DAZ has a program called Tailor. Some questions: 1) Does Tailor work? Are there clothes it won't work on (like clothes without any native morphs)? 2) Are there any other programs out there that are cheaper? 3) Is there a way to make clothes fit within P5 itself? Thanks for the help...

The Tailor works exteremly well on swim suites but less so on flowing garments. When I create morphs in my clothing I use a combination of the Tailor, Poser magnets and a 3D modeler. In Poser 5 you can also use the Cloth Room to get a better fit. You'll need to load the figure then import the clothing as an OBJ. Next set up a short animation with the figure in its zero pose no morphs at frame 1 then fully morphed at frame 30. Next use the grouping tool in frame 30 to spawn props of the clothing groups. Export these props in OBJ format and use them as morph targets for the clothing.

If your asking if its worth purchasing the Tailor then I'd say yes. Its not a magic solution to every situation but I find that it is still a very useful Poser utility I would not want to be without.

Wow, that sounds really complicated and time consuming. Thanks for the advice, it's looking like I'll buy it now. Maybe you should post to DAZ or email them and let them know that they should work on the flowing aspects of tailor. By the way, I've seen your stuff all over the web and it's great...

You can use Poser 5's cloth room, possibly with better results for flowing clothes. Have a look at Serge Marck's tutorials.
