Sean, this post is very "distrubing" so I think I shall "retrun" to what I was doing before I clicked on it. :) Kate (who can't ever seem to NOT typo those two particular words - along with things such as "teh" and anything ending with a double "L" - why did they put the ";" next to the "l" key???)

Momcat ( ) posted Sat, 31 July 2004 at 1:15 PM

aND WHY IS THE cAPSlOCK KEY NEXT TO THE "a"???...more importantly; why is there no way to disable it altogether?

I always type psoerpros :)....My typing is hideous...it's not that I can't spell...I just can't freakin type. And most of the time I'm just to damn lazy to go back & correct the reversed spelling in forum threads. Most people can tell what I'm saying anyway LOL...since 99.9% of ppl do this.

There is a way to disable the caps lock key. Find a pair of needle nose pliers. Grasp the cals lock key firmly. Pull sharply. Viola! No nore caps lock! Seriously there's a hole in my KB where it used to be!

How about "soem" for "some"? Or sometimes I put spaces in the mid dle of words when I try to type too fast...

If you're using windows, there's a method to disable capslock in the above link.

Last month, 5% of all Google users who searched for "Renderosity" misspelled it as "Renderocity" 4% of searchers included another word. That word was always "Poser" :( All interesting stuff...

HA!! You think YOU'VE got crappy typing skills,You should see me With my BEEFY-MITTS try to wrestle with these MICROSCOPIC keys! ;^D :^P IRONICALY I don't get many typo's ,simply because I use the TWO finger typing method!..I'M TOO FARRGIN' SLOW to make many mistakes! ;^D

In old times I used a Commodore Pet desktop. On it, when I typed A, the left side of my fingertip sometimes caught the shift key. That made A appear as spades (card suit). And a spade symbol looks quite like an A if you weren't expecting to see card suit symbols that day.

I'm curious tafkat how you find that out, what the percentage of a mispelled domain name is? Would be helpful... ShadowWind

tafkat ( ) posted Sat, 07 August 2004 at 5:17 AM

There are a few tools out there that monitor searches. The one I used for this one was the Overture keyword tool, on their site (I think it was just UK searches I looked at)

Thanks, will have to check that out...
