problem importing large 3ds models always explode can anybody help

Every once in a while I will run into this with a .3ds file, I believe it may have to do with versions, or where it comes from. Anyway...I have taken exploding .3ds files, converted them into another file format, and then imported them into Bryce with no problem. Crossroads is a free 3d file converter; http://home.europa.com/~keithr/Crossroads/index.html An annoying problem, but hope this helps. AgentSmith

It's actually down to poor awareness by the Max modeller, if you forget to reset the transforms on the model before exporting it explodes in other applications.
