Subject: More realistic eyebrows - settings and/or painting them on?

Hi. Here we go again with my Indiana Jones model. I'm slowly getting there with the face tex (haven't started the new body yet), but the eyebrows are driving me crazy. I'm using a transmap, but these seem much too thin and artificial for the rest of the face. I think I'm looking for the eyebrows to be about twice as thick in the same amount of space (i.e. thicker, not larger).

What settings should I be using for upper and lower eyebrows to achieve the best effect? BTW, this is Mike 2 Lo-Res. Yes, LO-Res. It seems to work better for Harrison Ford's face than the regular Mike 2 does (I have no idea why, and I have tried it both ways!)...

I am also, if necessary, willing to try drawing the eyebrows on the face tex, but it seems like really exacting work. Any suggestions for brushes, tips and tricks, etc. if it comes to that?

Thanks, as always, for any and all suggestions. -Mike

This is a plain texture with a bump map.

No need to draw the eyebrow texture on the map, cut one from a photograph and paste. Plenty of pictures of Brad Pitts' bushy eyebrows to be found in macazines and the net.

Often a combo of eyebrows painted/drawn on the face part of the head texture (for lower eyebrows) and a color and transmap for the upper eyebrows works. In your image above, the eyebrows are shown using the upper brows - where the actual head texture probably has none. If you paint/draw/paste some on to eyebrow area on the head and use your transmap, you'll get a fuller, more natural effect. Dave

If you have P5 then try growing some 'real' ones in the hair room.
