Attached Link: AR Pic

I did this pic a couple years ago. I am in the process of redesigning my website and decided to rework a few of my older pics that I really liked but think could be improved.

This image I always liked, but as you can see, it really got no comments, so my thought is there is something a miss in it.

Looking for honest crits and ideas to improve it.

Thanks in advance...

I'd try a different cropping on it to spark interest....sometimes that's all tha's needed...

Yeah, I like the top one too, you don't see many images in that format....

I think I can see what you mean. Its a cracking image, the textures are perfect, modellings great and I love that oil spill but it somehow seems like a backdrop rather than a finished picture. Its almost like a scene from a game. I expect to see the bad guys from Doom 3 coming at me. Not sure exactly what it needs, tho. (Big help, huh). I think Id try a slightly rotated camera angle so it wasnt quite so flat on maybe, give it some depth. Good luck with it. Of the two here I also prefer the second crop but I think its touch and go between that and the original. I wouldn`t add too many more objects to the letterbox crop, it could get too busy.

For some reason, something makes me want that foreground tank to be less bulky. Everything from texture to detail is excellent. If I were going to try one thing, it would be to make the tank a tad smaller, and maybe even vertical. Top notch scene.

I agree that this is an excellent scene! Wonderful eye for detail, and the textures, lighting and modeling are top-notch. I was even going to suggest that perhaps what was missing was the human element- the Doctor's now much older wife. Now if you did an update where the Doc somehow hit the correct timeline and his ravishingly beautiful and still youthful wife was waiting for him... You guessed it, naked Vicky in a laboratory with a feather duster, lol. Now that would probably get a lot of hits!

Thanks for the suggestions. Sam, I also had the same thoughts on the POV a while back. I may play with that a bit. Thanks again.

I'll have to agree with the panoramic idea...i do love panoramic-cropped images...something intriguing about them... There's something intriguing about this particular piece, as well.
