Subject: FURRETTE 2.0 - Is she out yet, Little Dragon?

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Furrette 2.0. Seems she's a bit overdue. Little Dragon, can you please give us a status report and an E.T.A? I'm hopping up and down with anticipation. -jjsemp

More than a bit overdue. Her original projected release date was October 31st, 2003. Admittedly, it's a woman's prerogative to arrive fashionably late, but she's clearly holding out for haute couture ....

I had some problems with a couple of the conforming clothing items this week, and still haven't fixed all the pokethrough on the jeans, catsuit, and bikini bottom. Furrette herself is finished, however.

At least, as finished as this build will ever be. I have other improvements in mind for her ...

... but that can wait until later.

At the moment, I'm working on a project for Styxx, and can't return to Furrette until I complete that this weekend. But all that's left is to fix the clothing. I really don't want to implement corrective morphs to compensate for the pokethrough, although it appears to be my last resort.

However, there's another matter. I don't have much bandwidth allowance left, and if I release her now only a few people will be able to download her before my File Locker freezes up for the remainder of the month. Can you wait until September 1st? I'll have the remaining problems solved by then (one way or another), and may even have a few more accessories ready for the launch.

We all know how women can be, wash their hair and they just can't do a thing with it.....and Furrette has a LOT of hair ;p

If you need a temporary home for Furette, I can host her for the moment : I don't have bandwidth limitation.

I can wait as long as it takes, especially since you are generously making this available to everybody for free. I was just curious as to how things were going. Thanks for the update. -jjsemp

Ooooo - Little Dragon - I cannot wait for Furrette v2. Course, I've waited this long - waiting until Sept won't be a problem at all :) Great news and she looks fabulous!

My former husband used to stand in the doorway jingling his keys and singing out, "train's leavin'" I assure you that we can be more polite and patient... no matter how purrsuasive she is!

I won't be misusing the extra time. Here's a late addition to clothing pack #1: a tank top.

Looking Great! And she even has a button to tuck that sweet...tail...of her's in!

SpottedKitty ( ) posted Mon, 16 August 2004 at 3:49 PM

But... but... that's not a decent tank top for a furry character!?!?? It needs to have lots of frontal armour an' hatches on the top an' a great big gun!

Hold on...

Oops, wrong kind of tank top. Blame the vixens for this one... <sharp-fanged grin>

WTH, I can wait a bit longer if this is the kind of extras you'll have ready by then.

Just one quick question, Little_Dragon — what size of download is it likely to be? I might have to wait until the weekend so I can snarf the lot if it's really huge.

Another fan of Paul Kidd and Mike Sagara, eh?

Just one quick question, Little_Dragon what size of download is it likely to be?

I honestly can't say with any certainty, as I haven't tried to package everything yet.

The base files for the figure alone will probably be 2-3MB, zipped. The UV-templates will be available as a separate download for texture-makers.

I'll try to keep each texture set to about 3MB, as I did with Mia.

The first clothing pack will probably be 4-6MB, depending upon how many items and textures make the final cut.

The first hairstyle will be about 2.5MB.

The file sizes don't seem too humungous, I shouldn't have any problems with that. Don't mind me, I'll just sit here in the corner and knit a GrossenSuspensionofDisbeliefKannon while I'm waiting...

Joint test for a jacket. And yes, it opens, courtesy of the magic of body handles. The tank top seems to fit underneath nicely.

I haven't actually done much modeling on the jacket yet, which is why it has no detail; this is simply a placeholder mesh with which I can experiment with the joint parameters. I wanted to see if I could make the sides of the jacket posable first.

Don't know if it'll make the final cut for clothing pack #1. Currently, the body-handle joints are sort of a kludge.

It's no good. You've corrupted me. Tank Vixens Poser art... Olease, consider the sociopolitical ramifications.
