Subject: Vue Cannot Find Poser PZ3'S

arrow1 ( ) posted Mon, 16 August 2004 at 12:54 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 7:01 AM

I am still having trouble getting Vue 4 to reconize where my PZ3'S are! I have Poser Propack on a separate machine and have it networked.Vue has been updated and reinstalled.I also have Vue Pro on the same machine as poser and it doesn't always reconize where the PZ3'S are. Also when I fluke it and get a PZ3 imported there are no textures imported.I am obviously doing something wrong!
I am running WIN XP Pro on both my machines. There is over 60 gigs of hardrive space available on both computers and one has a dual 2.6 plus athlon chip the other has Athlon 3000.Both video cards are the latest! Any help appreciated.arrow1

so you Do have the vue 4.2 update? i found and sometimes it works sometimes not, play around w/ the import setting (in vue when it asks for 1 poser frame or whole poser animation, above that it asks if you want a single mesh or not, try both) also make sure its saved in poser. if you do get it into vue and no textures follow it over, you can apply the textures to each aspect, its a pain in the butt but you can do it (poser>runtime>textures>...whatever). this doesnt solve your problem but maybe helps until someone gives you step by step to fix it.....

As I recall, there are problems with imports from Poser ProPack. The Pz3 is slightly different from the pz3 that comes from regular Poser 4; most folks I know export the model from ProPack as an obj, and apply the textures manually in Vue. I think the same would happen with Vue Pro. Davy originally had ProPack, and that's what he had to do, it was a real pain in the neck, so he finally deinstalled it and bought Poser 4. You might want to try a search on this forum using ProPack or Poser ProPack and see if you get any threads, but I'm pretty sure the problem is ProPack, not Vue/Vue Pro.

i figured it out! as someone just told me , go to vue updates. upload the "full vue 4.22" upgrade it updates vue 4 and mover 4 to: vue4.22 & mover5 this should fix any prob's w/ importing dynamic aspects of poser5 clothing and hair problems along w/ texturing bugs.......hope it works

I have all the latest updates for both programs. It seems I am not the only one with this problem! I might try saving my figures as full PZ3'S not PZZ'S and see if this helps. Can anyone assist me with rendercow?I have VUE4 on one computer and Vue Pro on another both networked.Do I have to install two copies of rendercow (one pro and one vue4) on each machine? I seem to be having a conflict of some sorts as when I open Vue 4 a banner comes up telling me to change the port number as another program is using it.arrow1

As far as I know Vue doesn't support the .pzz format, sounds like that's probably it, but then again I don't have the pro pack so I've never tried.

Vue and Vue Pro don't support pzz...only pz3. Which is why the ProPack import won't work.
