OK - so I went to out usual local restaurant/bar/hangout. Every Thursday and Friday night, they have live performers - but about a month ago, there was a band that really caught my attention - and they played there again this past Friday. I scooped up my camera and went to see them again (again, they impressed the foolacca out of me!). I told the band that the real reason I had come was because of them - asked them if they would mind if I took some photos and that i would send them some to use on their website or whatever. Enter the situation - they liked the photos a bunch (poor lighting, grainy as it gets, drunk as I got...) - and they want me to shoot some promotional photos for their band. As a photographer, I'm kinda excited at the chance - as a nature photographer, I have no idea what I'm doing - and would LOVE some recommendations and/or advise from anyone concerned. this is really not a "money" venture - I would really like to get this band off the ground....so I'm not concerned about what to "charge" - I just want some advise as to what to watch out for and what to try to capture in a promotional photo for a band. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Wolf

The lighting sucked - and I felt bad about using flash...but had to for the lead singer...

For the most part, I jacked up the ISO setting on my camera to "Max" and shot available light - produced really grainy results...but the band is a bit "grunge" anyway......don't really know if this works.

I'm not a photographer, but do know what I like to see and things I think look good. :Do some under shots, meaning looking up at the band being careful to not outflash the spotlights. :Capture the glisten of cymbals while shooting the drummer.Trying to concentrate on how hard he works at it. :Emotion from the singer with mike close to lips :The name of band in a overall shot is good. :Behind the scene shots No technical advice but things I think are worth a mention.
