Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 10:00 pm)
Looks good. But wouldn't a simple transmap with the UVtemplate give the same effect? (can't try it right now as I'm in the middle of a looong animation-render, but...)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Right, lets briefly explain. Project Wirez began following some enquiries about a 3D wire structure in one of my gallery images (no link cus, everyone had the chance to see it it when it was posted!). So thinking that the file size of just the depicted head conversion would really scare a Runtime Directory things seemed a little 'out of the question' for a full length humanoid figure.
Never one to give up that easily, I've had a mess with some low res figures and got the .OBJ file size down from around 800MB to 20MB.
Even at this early stage I'm optimistic that a usable, free, 3D wire full humanoid figure of between 10MB and 15MB could be achieved. Still sounds large but add up the MB's of one of your favourite figures with clothes and hair and then compare.
I doubt the structure will pose like the usual figure but I'm hopeful limited movement will be OK without much problem to the tubular based structure.
It's early days but I would love this to be my Christmas gift to the 3D Community.
But why post so early? That's easy - without sufficient interest I may not continue at pace with this free gift and sometome in 2005 would be more likey. I'm at the "is there likely to be much interest stage" after raising this in the copyright forum.
Free Wirez is on its way!
Please have a look at the example image and either express your interest (or not!) here in this post or use the IM service.
As always, Best Wishes.
