Hi... I`ve got this result when i`d use Michael Mapplebeck (AKA Mapps at Renderosity)` P5 Toon shader . This method answer my question yesterday , about skin texture like comic ( painting ) . I dont have tablet or stylus and only mouse , thats make me difficult to get result like everybody`s postworks like i saw in gallery , but.... this shader give me another way . BTW ,with three light setup i`ve got trouble to handle highlight overcast ( even in postwork ), but with only two light or maybe one i could reduce it and go to PS to give picture very easy postwork ( level , duplicate , blend mode ) Note : These pics compressed JPG , the actual render very crispy

That came out pretty cool. It didn't actually occur to me to try toon shading anything other than, well, toons. :)

cedarwolf ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2004 at 8:08 AM

Ooohhh...the possibilities!! Are those installed as part of P5 or an aftermarket item?

Kiera ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2004 at 8:19 AM

Toon Shaders are part of P5. :)

Gareee ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2004 at 5:29 PM

could you post a non toon shaded version, so I can tell the difference?

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

dlfurman ( ) posted Mon, 23 August 2004 at 9:09 PM

Can you post a screen shot of your materials screen for the above images?

Very interesting render,I would like to see your materials settings, if that is possible...

satria ( ) posted Tue, 24 August 2004 at 3:39 AM

Ive done nothing.... No texture at all just search Michael Mapplebeck (AKA Mapps at Renderosity)s P5 Comic Colour in freestuff , apply in every body part and head with that( in this case i apply africa flesh ) and go..on... Actually , those shader only for toon character (like guys who create said ) , but thats work for other figure too , i think... Render with only one light , and go to PS or anything 2d package to balancing tone . Thats it. Sorry.. Garree , pz3 not saved , but if you interest i can work again . Wait for that...

Ok, can you throw me a bone here? I was all over my P5 last night and couldn't find anything marked "toon shaders" or even just "shaders." I admit to being lost in the materials room and not understanding the subtle sciences involved there, but, can ya just tell me what ya done? Please??

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 24 August 2004 at 2:25 PM

Cedarwold, "Shaders" is what the Poser 5 procedural textures are called. The Toon shaders in this case is a free pack that Mapps has made, it's in free stuff. If you download them and apply one of them you can see where everything goes and how it works. It's a bit hard to explain but (relatively) easy to grasp when you can see a premade shader in use :o)

Well...If you are gonna snug up I will get right to work :-) I do have some new ones I'm working on and have revised some of the old ones Likley next week I will be releasing the new ones alone (stones and new leathers) and a revised pack of all my mats to date (257 total could be more than that by the time I post, I'd like 260 even at least). I see also that I need to start coming here to the forums, it took me over 2 hours to read all the stuff here addressed to me or my stuff. I had simply never gone through the forums before. :-)
