Subject: custom morphs with zbrush and then morphing clothes to match

hello if i make a body morph in zbrush for a character is there a way i can morph clothes to match the body morph in zbrush? there's a tutorial in the renderosity tutorials that say to save it as a script for the clothes morph later but since i'm very very new to zbrush i have no idea what that means exactly lol..

you could transfer the morphs using taylor...

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

I've used ZBrush only once or twice but what I think what they were advising you to do was save the ZBrush actions as a script so you can duplicate the sculpting moves that were used on the figure model and apply it to the clothing model, I think... Something similar to Photoshop actions I suppose. The ZBrush forum is the place for advice on that. The program is called 'Tailor' as in "one who makes/repairs/alters clothes", not Taylor. Tailor is your best bet for transferring morphs from the figure to the clothing item and it's fairly easy to use. Results may vary depending on the mesh density of the clothing item. -N

...or Morph Manager, which is free - a much quicker way of transferring/copying morphs between figures. http://www.morphography.uk.vu/dl.php?file=MorphMan40.zip

What I think MoonRose wants to do is morph the geometry of a base figure and then create a corresponding morph in a clothing item for that figure so the clothes will fit better. Morphs will only work between two figures if they are based upon the exact same geometry. Since the base figure's geometry differs from the clothing item's geometry, copying morphs from one to the other won't work. Morph Manager can't be used because it doesn't directly modify the geometry of the clothing model like Tailor does. All it does is copy the morph channels and deltas from one file to another. Tailor actually moves the vertices of the clothing to reflect the shape of the morphs in the base figure and then creates new morph channels in the clothing so you can recreate that shape with the turn of a dial. It's a really handy program. -N
