Want to put up a couple design ideas. I have been racking my brain with what way to go with my sites new look.

Let me know what one you like better.. and what could be improved. Actual size will be 800x600.

And in Style 1, I have a coding prob with the HTML ( I can make it work, but not the way I planed) If anyone here is fimilar with Iframes.. let me know.
Take a look...(thanks)

Style 2.. a tad "DARK" so I am not sure about it...

Ardiva ( ) posted Sat, 28 August 2004 at 1:28 AM

The first one is much better, IMHO. Great job! :)

I like Style 1. For sure. Very good work on both designs though!

Kemal ( ) posted Sat, 28 August 2004 at 1:36 AM

Hmmmm, very hard to choose, both are more then excellent !!! I did not find style 2 dark, I actually like it little bit more then the other one, cuz it has less sharp edges, I would just loose that square shape and create something more custom, maybe combined with that logo U have in the design No1 ??? :) Little flash animations are sometimes a nice addition to it. Dunno IFrames, cuz i'm usually coding my stuff directly in HTML, sorry :(

Kemal.. I do all my coding in Notepad.. lol. As far as Flash.. NO.. I want my site bare bones, fast to load and minimal as can be. Also concentrated on easy navigation..

That flash and other crazy stuff is nice eye candy. But after I have been to a site with it more than a couple times, I just find it annoying...LOL And the square is for the Iframes.. Cant make it any other shape.

Thanks for the input. I do like the first design, but worry it is too "Horror" for many.

Tough choice. Personally I like the second one slightly more. I don't know why, I guess it's a matter of personal taste. LOL I have to agree on not having flash. I mean it's really nice but sometimes it slows down your access to what you want, and that's pretty annoying. Majority of websites that I most frequently visit have very little or no flash at all. Remember those old Java Applets, gosh I loved them but they were irritating as hell. LOL

striving ( ) posted Sat, 28 August 2004 at 3:25 AM

LOL @ Alvin.. Yeah, I use to have the Java stuff on my first few sites. Like I said above.. its cool at first, then just becomes a drag. So you like the second one.. hmmmm... You people are making this tough. LOL

I also like the second one, because I'm a grungy guy at heart. :-) Is that Royal Pain font? But the first one is better. It is easier on the eyes. And the second style is kinda used up. What about iframes? I might be able to help. OTOH, it might be your browser and its rendering of iframes.

I would find something other than a poser face for something called 'Bryce Realm', a wireframe or metaball creation or something that says Bryce.....I like the second post idea, kinda mysterious.

Zahnn.. I was wondering how long til someome said that..LOL. It was rendered in Bryce, Textured in B, lit in B, etc.. I understand your point. But I am not so strict in that sense. JMO

#2 looks great, but I agree with Erlik. #1 is fine, maybe the brightness of the face draws from the menu. LOL, sorry if I confused you more.

The first thing I thought of looking at the first interface was it looked like a poser texturing site, the kinda where they have 'realistic' human skin textures etc....but it's your site, go with it...:)

Agree with Zhann; I would use a model built in Bryce not a Poser figure...and I like the first design. :-)

striving ( ) posted Sat, 28 August 2004 at 4:38 AM

WEll, since Bryce is now part of DAZ.. I think there will be more to see the 2 connected. JMO, and yes, I will GO WITH IT!

Striving: I like the first one because it's more welcoming. I can't get any of the buttons to work though (just kidding).

With the top one, I'd scrap the text 'INDEX PAGE click any link...' etc. It's irrelevent/unnecessary. I like Style #1. Provided it doesn't take too long to load. Looking forward to visiting this site.....!

I like style of the first one except for the face. The Poser face doesn't bother me, but the top (first) face reminds me of a mascara comercial. The textured, second face seems more Brycian to me.

alvinylaya ( ) posted Sun, 29 August 2004 at 3:03 AM

Yeah, I think that's what it is! The first one does kind of remind me of a Mascara commercial LOL, the second one reminds me of those scary video games: "Resident Evil" or "Parasite Eve". I have to say the first one looks really professional though.
