Subject: Can Only Type In Capitals

Hi, I am using Photoshop Elements 2.0 and for some reason I can only type in capitals whether the shift key is pressed or not. I am pretty sure I could type normally before though, does anyone know if I could have accidently pressed something or know how to fix it? Thanks all.

Online Now!

I don't have elements, but in Photoshop CS, Shift-Ctrl-K toggles the text tool between "Caps only" and normal modes. Maybe Elements has a similar keystroke?

Hi, I will try and track down the keystrokes, and will retry the manual, shift-ctrl-k did not work though. Will keep looking and thanks for your help. Thanks.

Ok, now I feel like an idiot :) Just pressed the reset tool button and what do you know, I can now type in lowercase, sorry for the silly question everyone and thanks.

yeah, I thought there was a problem, I remember messing around with the character pallete, and PS kept my settings, untill i chose "reset character" from the pallete's own drop-down menu, i was typing with spaced out, forced caps, italic, faux bold text

lol, they should make it more apparent that it can actually happen, but I could find no where in the manual that it can actually type constantly in forced caps. I don't know if the elements manual is smaller than the full photoshop but I couldn't see it anywhere.

no, there really should be compiled a list of "cause-and-effect" regarding keystroke shortcuts... i know i've triggered it by trying to "invert" something (ctrl+shift+I) and "stubby-fingered" the "k" key instead!!!

i add the screencap to show where on the "type" palette it's located...

don't worry, there are no silly questions ;)

Photoshop Elements may be quite different.

Hi, Yes elements is a different beast, ctrl-shift+K, from what I can see doesn't to anything, I know they took a lot of stuff from elements, look like the took a lot of the keystrokes too, lol. Thanks all.
