Ack... I've asked this question several times, and I STILL don't seem to make it work. I've installed network rendering here in our remote mountain top... and I really can't see any difference, 'cept for some more Bryce craches... sigh I don't understand where to start the render... and actually WHAT is supposed to happen.
What is supposed to happen is when you hit render (if you are rendering to screen), your screen will start rendering in small blocks across your screen. That's the two, or more computers splitting the scene up into sections, each rendering, and then sticking them back onto the scene on your computer. I banged my head against my 2 pc's until I got it to work, and even to this day I can't understand what I was doing wrong, or what I did right to finally make it work. AS

Open up Bryce on one of the machines and open Lightning on the other(s) To start the render, you go to File - Render Animation. Change the output module format to BMP sequence. Set (or Note) where you want the render saved. Click on the little dot next to Render on Network. Then click on Configure. Check the machine(s) running Lightning for the IP address (it's in the box near the top). Add those numbers to the the Client List (or Search) Make sure there is an arrow next to the addresses in the client list and click update. You should get a green dot if the computers are communicating. Make sure there is a check next to Use Host to Render (especially if you are only using two computers) and Tile Optimization. Click the check mark at the bottom and it should start rendering. It will render 100x100 squares on each computer and when done will stitch it all together.
