hi iam running poser on win2k and it has been working fine, but all of a sudden when i start it up, before it shows the title and credits it quits out, meaning when I start up the prog by clicking on the exe I see the window for about 3 seconds then it quits out. I dont know what could be causing it but its really agrrivating. I also tried reinstalling and it does the same thing.

okay, I might be able to help here :) there are two things that did that to me... 1) I have a nvidia vidio card and some of the beta drivers caused that behavior, going back to the previous driver fixed the problem... if you havent changed video drivers, it might be a corrupted file in the poser directory... what it was for me was the fact that I used to install all my poser utilities under that directory and something was causing a messup... Change the directory name, and reinstall poser, then start moving things back in.. start with the geometries and libraries and then check to see if things are still working correctly, and at each stage check so you can see what might cause the problem.. go into the poser 4 folder and you'll see poser.rsr delete that (back it up just incase) then reinstall, if it works back up that file again and if you get the same prob replace it.........Steve

may also try going to folder :Poser 4Runtimeprefs and opening the Poser.ini file and looking for the line:LAUNCH_PREFERRED 1 and changing the "1" to zero it should put you back to the default state when opening you may have a corrupt "preferredState.pz3"

Y'all have a great day.
