The poser 4 woman.

I thought only P5 figures worked in the face room? So I'll say Judy. The shoulders look like either Judy or V2 though.

The head seems bigger than the body, hmm did you import a pic somehow?? Looks like a picture of my old teachers head (and that is disturbing) lol. Maybe standard p woman not sure wich version for the body.

Vilters is not asking who the person is but the poser figure, so saying alan alda etc is not really very funny.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Fri, 10 September 2004 at 1:27 AM

Well since Vilters always use the low rez characters it IS funny

I love it when people tell me what is and isn't funny. Saves me having to figure it out for myself, eh? It can be so darned complicated sometimes... I'm guessing Stephanie Petite for the figure, though I'm probably way off. bonni

No elizabyte - the point xantor obviously was making is that making those ALan Alda type jokes in this kind of situation might be highly insulting to the person posting.

Whether or not you are amused (or SamTherapy, Minty, mathman or anyone else) is a matter of thinking before you put your foot in you mouth and make someone else wish they'd never opened theirs at all and posted here.
Forum jokes for the initiated can be highly disconcerting if used in the wrong situation.

Believe me, I would never take the risk of being insulted this way in this forum and asking an innocuous question like vilters did.

I'm quite sure the idea was not to be ridiculed but to find out if people actually could guess. Is that very difficult for you to understand?

Oh, and as to the original question..... My guess is Judy. :] Fish

KarenJ ( ) posted Fri, 10 September 2004 at 8:18 AM

I'm also guessing P3 low-res female, just going by the hands. The body shape looks similar to Steph, but I think Steph has a lot more vertices... Mind you, I'm viewing this on a crappy monitor at work, so if I'm way off, that's my excuse sorted :-D Tony, I know we've talked about this before, but I really really wish you'd put a different face texture on your projects because this one just scares me! Your projects with the low-res characters are really very interesting and imaginative (I also remember your trick of using displacement maps on second skin textures) but I think they're not getting the attention they deserve because people are looking at the figure, going "Ugh, ugly!" and then not paying any attention to the achievements themselves. No offense intended and I hope you read this in the spirit with which it is offered :-)

OK, it is the P4-LO res female Taken group by group into anim8or, and had a lot of fun toying the points around. A clue was that the feet where not shown. The P4-Lo figure does not have any toes. As for the face texture, well actually I use three different facetextures but there is something with the way the mouth is shown. They all do the same thing, and give a quite unhappy, unnatural look. I-v seen it also, but can not yet find a way around it. PS this one was shown with no displacement map. It does improve quite a bit when i do as it becomes more detailed> See ya all back when she gets some clothes> No more modeling work ; only texturing and diplacent mapping to get the clothes on. ( God willing, in a day or 2 ) and yes, I ll try yet another facetexture GRIN

The thing is, the face looks too big somehow. I can't quite explain WHAT it is, but it looks off scale and that's probably what triggers the "ugh ugly" reflex I must admit I have too. Your work with the P3 low rez characters IS really amazing, and wort it for animators. But she looks worse than Judy in her present form... so.. please find another texture/face :o) And sorry if my previous relpy seemed hars, it wasn't my intention but when I read it now it could seem rude.

If that is the P3 Womyn, then that is totally amazing work.

xantor ( ) posted Fri, 10 September 2004 at 8:21 PM

I agree with ernyoka1 that the face looks too big.

Barryw ( ) posted Fri, 10 September 2004 at 9:09 PM

Looks like the face is only half a face flipped. The space between the eyes is too large. Needs to be about 1 to 1 1/2 eye spaces between them. Would probably look better.

xantor ( ) posted Fri, 10 September 2004 at 9:58 PM

There is usually only one eye space between the eyes.

Eh fishnose? If I have insulted you vilters I appologise profusely, I'm sure if I had of done YOU would have told me. Interesting model by the way, a very different and refreshing look for a poser figure. And just how is it insulting to say that the image LOOKS(even ever so slightly) as a person? Answers on a postcard please LOL. Have fun all!

In all honesty, I was just in a silly mood and being silly. Seriously. If I offended, it was genuinely unintentional.

But, hey, thanks for the arse kicking! I appreciate it!
