Subject: my memorial page...

syndroid ( ) posted Wed, 08 September 2004 at 5:09 AM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 11:03 AM

Hi, I am moved to have a memorial page on renderosity, but I think it's better if it's removed since I am not dead. It has been posted in the 2D forum that I was dead. I do not blame yellowfyre for posting that, because he was misinformed himself. I am very much alive and thus still a member of this site. Rik

I'm not sure I would take news of my death so well. But it's not so funny. What if someone really close heard about a death through a forum. Terrible mistake.

Hi syndroid, Glad to hear you are still amoung the living. And people wonder why it usually takes awhile to post things such as these. I moved a bit too fast I see. Links or copies of obituaries will be required in the future ;-) Best wishes, LillianH Renderosity Marketing & Promotions

I am glad you gave me a sign that you are still alive. My thoughts are by Meli now, because she was very upset. I post also an images for her today, and after a hour I saw her ebot with this story.....After I read her story I repost some lines.....She is such a lovely person to all of us, so I can understand how she felt after she hear the "good news" that you are alive. I hope that this kind of mistake never happens again.

I am happy that you are still around us

Im in shock...and I do indeed think you are taking it very well.. What exactly happened that would cause someone to think you were dead? Last we heard, you were in a car accident, and died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital...

I'm glad to hear you're alive & well too!

Lol, that must be a hell of a start to read somewhere that you are dead! I was not familiar with your work before your untimely "demise", but now I'll have to check your work out from time to time. I suspect a lot of people visited your gallery since the "news" yesterday, whether from a sense of morbid curiousity, or to see what kind of artist the Rendo community had lost.

I'm glad to hear you're still around; still, it's always nice to know one will be missed, most of us don't get that opportunity lol

Everyone knows that an artist's "worth" goes through the roof once they are dead. I'm undecided on your art, Syndroid, but may it be "worthless" for years to come! :-)

Velcome back! Have a BloodWiser on me, now that you are undead. It is the very rare person who gets to visit his own wake. Glad to hear that it was all just a misunderstanding!

oh, good.. last night, very late, i saw your memorial page, checked everything you did and depressed very badly.. even you were in my dream last night.. i thought it was such an unfair-life, not only to young talented artists like you but to everyone.. even though i don't know you, it is very good news to hear that you are alive.. cheers.. gulcin

Sooo glad to hear you are not dead. However, I felt pretty dead yesterday and today due to illness. I'm better, so perhaps I'm not dead after all. Even so, I'd have to feel much better to be dead, anyhow. Good luck on the rest of your life, since you are not dead. {{{{{{{{{{{hugssssss}}}}}}}}}}}

Armorbeast ( ) posted Sat, 11 September 2004 at 8:58 PM

Well,I don't see why a link or an obituary would be necessary (since I for one never posted one and many grieving people wouldn't)...just pm the guy and see if he replys,if he does then he's alive and if not contact the person who announced the death to provide further info lol!!

I hear ya Armorbeast. I honestly wish I didn't have request stuff like that, especially at such an emotional time for people. I understand. Unfortunately, it's not the first time a member has received the unexpected honor of a "memorial" without the prerequisite passing to warrant it. Translated...I don't want to freak people out by posting someone died, if they haven't. So, unless there's another way to delicately confirm such events...I'll have to go with an obituary. Thanks for understanding, Lillian

Just remember Lillian,I'm still alive so any reports of my demise are false lol...but yeah,I agree that a false report would be a downer for someone who returns from a weeks vacation to find a memorial on rosity to their demise. I would think an exception could be made if reported by a direct relative living with the deceased...I mean,it took weeks to get my mothers death certicate due to a snaffu and I know I would not have been very happy to hear I needed proof when I was living with her when she died. Still,it is understandable when its an online friend with no direct way to confirm the demise.
