THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Which is faster?

pauljs75 ( ) posted Thu, 16 September 2004 at 5:38 PM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 6:36 PM

For rendering that is... Two choices: A fast computer, but it belongs to someone else. This person is also clumsy about how they do things on the computer, so the rendering gets stopped every now and then. (One would think that reading email, web browsing, and using messenger shouldn't bother Bryce if it's minimized. It should keep rendering away w/o stopping in the background somewhere.) Or a slow computer that belongs to you. You know that nobody else is going to dick around with it. But it goes 1/2 the speed of the faster computer and has 1/4 the RAM.

My advice? Use your own, barracade the doors and set the alarms for 'KILL'......When it's done, backitup all over the place...............

Yeah, fast is always nice, but...if it gets accidentally terminated altogether...you would have been better off on the slower one. Or...do/use both. AS

Sheesh... So you want me to try and take regular PC guts and put 'em in a laptop. And then you want me to beat up my mom? LOL... I thought there could be more resourceful ways to keep bryce going w/o being tampered with.
