Subject: Need to convert MAX to 3DS or other format

I have a few pieces of furniture in MAX format and need to convert them to something either poser 4 of Bryce 4 could use. Is there anyone out there who has a converter or that can do the conversion themselves? I do not have 3D Studio MAX. I only have Poser 4 and Bryce 4. TNX in advance

Files that are .Max extensions cannot be converted as they are scene files not mesh formats. You'd have to find someone who has Max and have them export each object in the scene to whatever format you'd like , ie ; .3ds , .dxf etc. And the objects would lose all map coordinates too and need to be remapped.

Some MAX files can be converted by 3Dexplorer, but not all: http://www.xdsoft.com/explorer/

Explorer is great for converting max file. But,they often come out twisted and turned because poser(or any other format) can't read the mirror tool.

The reasonwhy one cannot convert most MAX files is that they are often created with features and parameters only found from within MAX. Like a 3rdparty plugin for example. SO in order to convert. First you need Nugraph's Render System. Then you need MAX Nugraph, if authorization is legit will thenconvert the MAX file to whatever you wish. I think it actually opens MAX but I am not sure on that. JanP
