maybe a figure creeping along flat on his stomach, carrying a gun? or little nuts scattered here and there on the ground, with small low-slung animals (that have obviously developed in the environment) gathering them up? it looks like those might be animal-prints on the ground. Or a fairy-tale castle beyond the thorns, so it looks like Sleeping Beauty's palace? shot my bolt, no more suggestions

In my opinion, I think you should put some bump on the trees. Maybe a little fog or haze will give it a more mysterious look. I feel like one of ocddoug's atmosphere might be applicable to this setting. He has some free stuff here: http://www.geocities.com/bookjunkkee68/index.html Ultimately it all depends on what look your'e going for.IMHO, it's missing a point of interest. A focal point. There are several candidates spring to mind, and several locations for them. Locations: The bright junction in the branches to the centre left (but I think that's probably a little too central and too left - would lead viewers eye out of the pic). The clear area of ground to the bottom right (but again, I think that might lead the viewer's eye out of the pic). My preferred position, on the biggish spike that's about 3/4 of the way to the right and 1/3 from the top. THERE I would place something. Something BRIGHT. (In order to contrast with the rest of the scene.) It could be an insect, or possibly a frog/snake/bush-baby; or perhaps a faceted jewel. Fairly small, but with bright and/or contrasting colours, so as to provide a focal point. Or a single flower, maybe... Then again, I could be entirely wrong... Cheers, Diolma
