Subject: David preteen version less hairy?

simontemplar ( ) posted Sat, 25 September 2004 at 9:11 AM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 4:54 PM

The David preteen morph does a good job at reshaping him, but a preteen with legs, arms and chest as hairy as the basic texture provides seems a bit weird. Is there a "shaved" David texture anywhere to buy or dl?

Any of the M3 textures will also fit David so if you have any 'shaved' versions of him they'll work fine. The V3 texttures will fit also....try that but make sure you have one with no make up and lippy LOL!

Yeah, unless I want him to look like a drag queen lol. Would be very much inapropriate ... "Mom, where's your lipstick? I ran out of mine!"

Someone should make "child" textures for David and SP. They could also be used for the soon-to-released generation three MilKids.

By the way is there any link to WIP for these new kids?

I think you have to be a Platinum Club member. They didn't show much - just head shots. Looked like a young Vicky and Mike. I asked what age they are - teen, preteen, preschool - and they wouldn't answer. They did say that they hoped to make them compatible with the old MilKids clothes.

First, try a V3 or SP3 texture with no makeup. No, it doesn't make them look like draq queens. My favorite is Nana (no longer available though). A number of textures with no makeup variations look good a male figure. Sometimes the eyebrow can be a little too thin, and the pubes may not look quite right, but overall pretty good. Second, use the UTC on a Millenium Kid's texture to convert it to SP3/David. Nicholas (Daz) and the BreathGen Kids look great converted. I like both of them on any figure. They give a clean, fresh look. Third, try doing a merge between 2 textures. Use 1 fairly hairless M3 texture and a V3 texture. In P5 you can do this in nodes. Or you can use photoshop or other good paint program to combine 2 textures. Works pretty well. Finally, there's been more than one thread on this. I'm sure there's a merchant or two working on a new texture set that'll work. There's money in it. Also there will be new textures for the next generation of Millenium Kids that'll work, if you can wait a bit.

Try Jade for M3 at Daz, look in the special interest section. He has a smooth body... just a little facial hair.

Poser Pros also has very nice M3/David textures that are young looking, with little or no body hair. Best of all, some are in the Pro Club for $2.49 -- and you don't have to be a member to buy!

Jim, The problem with most of the V3/SP3 characters is that they do have make-up, lippy and plucked eyebrows. It's hard to find a "raw" texture for the females. Do you have any in particular that you use ? (not the MilKids, just V3/SP3) ? regards, Andrew

My favorite was NHERVE's Nana. It used to be in the MP here, but it seems to be gone now. Pity, it was a nice texture. The Stepahie Petite Hi-Res at Daz isn't bad either, though you'll want to turn the lip sheen down. Zeta Studios has a couple of good ones, but I just looked and the site was down. Has anyone heard anything about StefyZZ? She and Catherina Hardis did the absolute best textures, but they both seem to have retired. There are some more in the MP, but you want to look carefully for too plucked eyebrows and painted gloss on the lips. I admit I really do prefer to use Nicholas converted with the UTC though. It's a great texture for a tanned kid. One thing about lip color. There's a tendency to make it darker on female figures. You can even it out by darkening the rest of the body parts a little. Also, use a different transmap on the eyebrows to give more a male effect.
