Hi everyone..I had been shopping around ebay for Wacom Intous used drawing pad because the price was really high at Wacom. The cheapest I saw on Ebay last weekend that was used $265 for 4 x 5 pad. I went to Fryes yesterday and they have the new version 3 out for $219. The Pad comes with photoshop elements, Corel Painter essentials 2,nik color efex pro 2IE, Wacom brushes 2, drawing pen and mouse. This morning I checked out Wacom's website and they have on sale as well.

The big different between Graphire4 at $99 and Intuos3 is level of pressure sensitivity for control. So if your painting hair Intuous will give you more control over it. Also the output resolution is more than double on Intuos.

Also...I don't work for Wacom...just have been using the drawing pads from them 8 years for photoshop.

Interesting. I've put the Intuos pad on my wishlist this year, but it'll probably be more attractive if my family sees the fabulous words: "ON SALE!" :) RC

Can you explain in a little more detail what the advantages are between having 256 and 512 levels of pressure sensitivity? I've had a big 6x8 ArtZ Wacom for years (it's got 256 levels of sensitivity), but I've been thinking about getting a smaller Intuos with more levels. Since Photoshop has ways to adjust your sensitivity, does it really make that much difference? Thanks a lot, and thanks for letting us know about this deal. Take care. SnowS

Hey SnowS: Example would be like take 4 different pencils with different types of lead number 1-4 that would be graphire but with Intuos it would be 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 3.5 4. I have been playing around this after noon painting hair with photographs of women from TV shows and changing their hair color and changing styles. With my old drawing pad it never came out looking real...always seem to be one level in hair strands. the hair strands look real now. Hope that helps...P.S. SnowS your work rocks.
