Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 5:11 pm)
It depends to some extent on what model you're using, and what version of Poser, since things differ, but in general: If a material has its transparency sliders both set to 0%, it will always be visible unless there's something in the way. If it has both sliders set to 100%, it will be completely transparent and hence invisible... ...unless... ...there's a transmap applied. If so, parts which are white on the transmap will be opaque, parts which are black will be transparent; and degrees in between. Most people apply transmaps from a MAT file nowadays, so it should just work. :)
I too had that problem Drew. I was doing a render where the trans map and diffusion map was a black lace picture. It took me ages to figuer out if the color is black under diffusion, that be a color or a map, it can't be seen before the render. That is the reason why I now always change it to another color until I'm sure the transperancy is as I want.

Because no matter what I try, I can't get vicky's eyebrows or lashes to show.
