Subject: Remapped Hokusai Wings - Mac compat. issue...

I didn't want to be labelled as someone who "discriminates against Mac users" (;-) so I released a supplementary remap file for Hokusai's Angel Wings. CAVEAT EMPTOR! I'm not a Mac user, have no Mac experience or personally know anyone in the immediate vicinity who owns a Mac so I can't test this file. The only thing I could do was provide a Mac compatible .obj file that the template is based on, a Mac compatible .uvs file with the texture co-ordinates in them, and a .jpg format texture template. In the readme file, I've included URLs for PC-to-Mac Poser utilities and a link to Steve Cox's "UV Mapper" which has a Mac version which can import/export .uvs files. I hope I've done some significant part of the legwork but ultimately it's up to the Mac user to know how to use the tools of his or her platform in order to make the best use of these files. Without a Mac, I can't provide a complete solution for Mac users so the only thing I can hope for is that these files help in some small way... Nuke

Thanks for the extra effort. The info regarding the converter apps & UVMapper is the best thing to add to your read-me file regarding MAC usage, especially for new users. PC files are easy to deal with because of these apps & you could save some space by leaving them in PC format. Thanks again, a Mac user.

Generally the OBJ file contains the UV coordinates, so a separage UVS file is not needed, even on the Mac. Isn't the UVS intended to be released when it applies to a copyrighted OBJ that cannot be released, then anyone who has the OBJ can apply the UVS? Or have I got it all wrong?

I'm not "worldly" when it comes to the field of 3D CGI so I assume that's one of hte uses of a .uvs file. It makes perfect sense I guess. I figured it couldn't hurt including it in the Mac file so I threw it in anyway... Nuke
