Subject: Where is it?

moonlight822 ( ) posted Sun, 10 October 2004 at 9:33 PM · edited Fri, 24 January 2025 at 10:49 AM

I buy a lot of things from Rend. for my poser4, my biggest problem is that once I load things, what is listed in my figures or poses has nothing to do with the name of the file that I purchased. A suggestion for the creator's of these files, in your read-me, could you possibly tell us newbie's what to look for in our drop-downs. Example, I purchased Silky Long Hair, and lo and behold there in my drop-down it says "Silky Long Hair" This is not true with a lot of things that I have bought, and it's disturbing to me. Please try to include this in your info, or at least an email where I might be able to ask. Thank You

i know the type of problem and i have recently opened a store here and i always provide a contact support e mail address. this should be required by rosty to enforce costomer satisfaction i think. i completly agree with your statement.

I agree, but usually you can tell yourself.

When you have the zip open in Winzip, look at the extract path names. Character files (.cr2) will be in the directory right after runtimelibrariescharacter. Hair files (.hr2) will be right after runtimelibrarieshair. Same with poses and props.

These directories (folders) will appear in their corresponding Poser library palettes, i.e. "Character," "Hair," etc.

Hi Moonlight822, All products sold at Renderosity should contain a list of files included in the readme.txt. If you cannot find the readme of a product after downloading, there is a link on each product page to the readme so you should be able to view it there. Hope that helps. I agree that sometimes the naming conventions people use are very strange to me and not what I expect!

Thank you for the response Karen, but that doesn't always tell me what to look for in my lists.....sometimes the names are completely different.

KarenJ ( ) posted Mon, 11 October 2004 at 4:39 PM

Hi Moonlight, the names should match exactly what appears in the runtime folder. I'll show a small example from one of my readme files: ..RuntimeLibrariesPropsYoga Yoga Mat.png Yoga Mat.pp2 Yoga Mat.rsr ..RuntimeReadme Renderosity_license.txt Yoga Poses for V3.txt ..RuntimeLibrariesPoseYoga V3 !! IK Off.pz2 !! IK off.rsr !! IK off.png !Default on mat.pz2 !Default on mat.rsr !default on mat.png Balanced Bear.pz2 Balanced Bear.rsr [etc, etc] All Readme files for products sold here at R'osity should follow this convention. The only exception would be older files, as I don't know when this requirement was put in place for merchants. But all new products should contain this info. If you find a recent product that doesn't, please contact the merchant about this. I wish everyone kind enough to share freebies would also add this info to their readme's. I know it's an extra step but it's soooo useful!

I provide it in all my freebies and such whenever I send a ReadMe with it. ^_^ That being said...

Well ty muchly Yggdrasil......we out here appreciate it...and Karen, all files don't have that......at least not all the ones I have......:)

They may be older files then, Moonlight - sending an IM to the merchant might encourage them to add a filelist to their future products :)
