Try this URL should have cut and pasted it (3rd try)For some fantastic tutorials and resorce links (including DEMs & Apps) check out thie site below. These tuts were done by Tom Patterson of the U.S. National Park Service and are well worth your time (one of the only things worthwhile for the average Joes' tax dollar). Make sure you see the link at the bottom for the "ICA Mountain Cartography Workshop" where you can obtain a great Bryce model of Mt Hood composed of 4 DEMs and colorized DOQs (it's around 14.2 megs). Does anyone ever use .dem files for creating terrains in Carrara? I know that they have to be converted to tga format or something similar, but I was just wondering if anybody used them? My quesrion is this: where is a good place to find these files?! I am having a hard time finding them, and when I do, they are not labeled well, so it is hard to find specific ones actually... Any advice/hints? HG... P.S. Fantasy football season is almost over, so I am about to get busy with this stuff again. Woo-hoo! (And getting an extra 128mb RAM, a Wacom Graphire tablet, and both the new Bryce and Carrara books for Christmas will be just a TAD helpful... LOL...)
