When I add a piece of clothing, sometimes part of does not show up, as if its too small for the figure? ie: the halter top doesn't completely cover the breasts. do need to add the clothing before I change the figure?

No this is sometimes simply a clothing problem - in your case try to make the breasts a little bit smaller - the morph-dial smaller. If you don't need to show a body-part it often makes sense to hide it (afaik strg+i - hide) Good luck
