Georgie held the tweezers tightly, as he attempted to pull the pull the little wooden peg out of the aluminum can. Touching the side of the can would complete a circuit, a small metal ring at the bottom of the peg making a switch, and a red light and buzzer would announce his foul. It was a fun game but he was determined to win.

Georges friend John tried to distract him. He jiggled in his seat trying to make him nervous and drummed his fingers on the table.

George looked up at John, Stop being such an ass.

It was an old game. Both boys were excellent players. George pulled the peg out and it was Johns turn.

John took a different approach. Rather than carefully removing the peg, he thought quickly removing it would guarantee success. Grasping the peg, he closed his eyes and breathing deeply, concentrated on a quick movement. John shot from the hip, and it usually worked. He usually won the game and usually wouldnt let George forget it.

The game continued and the boys were so involved neither noticed the gathering crowd watching them, a cheering section for each.

It's funny, and sad, to note how often the names of the players changed. While still the same game with the same cheering sections, we've grown so accustomed to the manipulations that the cheerleaders are the only ones we're interested in now. I wish I still had my yo-yo.

I was considering if either John or George made a bad move the bomb would go off.

I fancy that it did, only everyone was so engrossed in their own affairs it went ignored.
