I bought the cell because it's a PDA too, so I only have to carry one item. The camera wasn't really a deciding factor in the purchase, however recently it became useful when I was travelling around trying to locate hotels for a shoot. I took the pic using my cell cam, emailed it to the client and had a decision in minutes. This way if they showed interest in a particular Hotel, I could follow it up whilst I was there. Saved the client and myself time and expense.

I know the answer to that! (maybe) I work with a guy that just has to have the latest phone and has just splashed out 270 for a cam phone. His "old" phone was just 3 months old. As for their usefulness! As far as I can see there are very few if any except for gimmick value! With what he has spent on phones in the last 6 months I could have got a decent macro lens or something useful for my cam. Just my biased opinion
Like you said in your previous post using it for a good reason then that is fine and I can see where it fits in.
But to pay so much for what is essentially a toy for the sake of it is just madness.
I have had this conversation many times and basically say the same thing "a phone is a phone and a camera a camera"
Cant see myself holding my SLR to my ear ! he he. It would make my arm ache anyway.
My phone cost 65 and I think that is outrageous for a phone but have no problems spending hundreds on a lens, ok well Im funny that way but its my choice.
