Subject: Stephanie Petite vs. Ingenue Vicky 3

magnum1231 ( ) posted Thu, 14 October 2004 at 5:21 PM · edited Wed, 06 November 2024 at 11:44 AM

Hi all. I'm considering the purchase of a "delicate" female figure, and have narrowed my search to Stephanie Petite and the Ingenue upgrade for V3. Any recommendations out there as to which one is better, and why? (Ease of use, rendered look, clothing options, overall cost, etc.?)

Thanks for any thoughts.

I have both but I prefer SP3 to IV. There are more clothes for SP3 and no doubt more on the way in future. IV is a nice model but not terrifically useful to me at the moment.

Don't have SP3, only V3. I recently purchased Stephanie 1 and she looks so much better then V1 does. Looking at V3 and SP3, I'm afraid I should have bought SP3 instead of V3... I may get her in the future.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Personally, I like IV better, but if you want a clothed character, go for S3....at least she has more than 2 or 3 sets... eric

S3 doesn't look quite so... anorexic, either. :| Unless that's what you're after. ;) RC

Out of the box, Ingue has a more "delicate" look to her.
Clothes are a problem, as only the few that Jim Burton made will work on her.

If you are doing nudes,IV looks a lot better to me.
If you will need all the latest "Morphing Fantasy Crap",Steph Petite is more practical.

You might want to wait and see what the new Mill Girl will look like,(and how well she is supported).
I'm sure she will also be built on the "Uni-mesh" (like, what isn't), so most morphs will be interchangeable.

That's a good idea, Swamp. The new MilGirl is supposed to be out this month. She is built on the unimesh, and is supposed to be a "young teenaged" figure. I think they are also trying to make the old MilGirls clothing compatible with the new figure, too.

Personally, though, I love Steph Petite. She moves and poses so much better than V3. She's the only figure whose butt doesn't spread out to the size of Utah when you pose her bent over. ;-)

Her feet are rather large, though. I think she has V3-sized feet attached to her petite body. Netherworks has a free morph that makes her hands and feet smaller.

Her head was hard to morph at first, but with the new International Beauties package, and some other custom head morphs (free and for sale), she's as versatile as V3. (I particularly like Thorneworks' new "Dazle" character for SP. The head morph looks very Thorne and Sarsa when applied at full strength, but in smaller increments, it does a nice job of reshaping SP's face realistically.)

S3 doesn't look quite so... anorexic, either. :| Uh, there are morphs that V3 has to change that, of course:) I'll have to look into the hand and foot morphs for s3. That could be useful. eric

Netherworks also has a head morph pack for SP, but I haven't figured out how to get it to work. It requires the use of Morph Manager, and I'm kind of clueless with that.

Where can I find the Netherworks Hands and feet size morphs? They don't appear to be in the freestuff - or are they a sale item?

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 15 October 2004 at 11:33 AM

Hmmm. Did I misremember who made that morph? It was free, and called "More Petite," I think.

I'll check when I get home.

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 15 October 2004 at 4:51 PM

I checked. It is by Netherworks, and it is called "More Petite." But it seems to be gone now. He just re-did his Web site. Perhaps it was left out accidentally. You might try asking him.

I like IV, because all the V3 head morphs work well on her. The V3 body morphs work too, though some don't look very good. And all V3 textures fit her perfectly. She's modeled with her feet in high-heel shoe pose, and that makes her less versatile - her feet only look good when she is actually wearing high heeled shoes. V3 and S3 have more versatile feet. IV is sorely lacking in the clothing department, there's a few sets by Jim Burton, and I've made a few dynamic clothing props for her (in freestuff). I'll probably make more, someday. There are many clothes available for SP3. But I don't know whether V3 textures fit SP3, and as far as I know you have to purchase separate head and body morph packs, just like V3. I might be mistaken here. But it would make SP3 pretty expensive (I haven't bought her).

All the unimesh figures can share textures. Sometimes there are slight differences, but generally, SP can use V3's textures with no problem. Every once in a while, I'll come across a texture where the lipstick doesn't line up quite right. It's particularly noticeable with very bright lipstick and thick lips. Still, you'd probably only notice in a closeup.

I bought the head and body morph packs, but I know a couple of people who didn't. They claim V3's head morphs work on SP, though they don't look quite the same.

I just happened to have a render of IV next to SP, same hair, pose and textures. Yeah, I do have to get IV some more stuff to wear, though.

Thanks everyone for the replies, especially that picture at the end. Superb!

IV over S3 any day of the week (probably because IV has an uncanny resemblance to a petite elfin faced ex-girlfriend) Oh and there are flatfoot morphs for IV, they're in one of the shoe sets Jim did (think it's the Stilletoes set, or was it the DayLife set)

Rubbermatt ( ) posted Sun, 17 October 2004 at 11:16 AM

Clothing wise S3 has the advantage, but the Clothing Converter can help narrow the gap And as has been previously mentioned with S3 you have to buy a new figure plus head & body morph packs, IV can use the V3 morphs you already possess (ie she's cheaper, no I don't mean that in a bad way, minds out of the gutter people)

Jim Burton ( ) posted Mon, 18 October 2004 at 12:06 AM

I augta bend your ear on some of the rational behind Ingenue Vickie while I'm at it... You can surely make Stephanie Petite look better by turning the morph dials, but there are two problems with any highly-morphed character- some of the morphs will mess up the joint bending somewhat (as Poser works the joints on the unmorphed shape, not the morphed one), and more importantly, the clothing you use for the figure might not have matching morphs for the ones you use on the body (all the DAZ figures have so many morphs is is difficult for clothing creators to match tham all). So, one of the ideas behind Ingenue Vickie (and Glamorous Vickie, for that matter) was to have a new default shape that is closer to what many try to get by turning the morph dials. You can't actually get V3 (or SP) into that shape though, as IV and GV weren't made using DAZ morphs.

Just a heads up - for anyone else looking for the More Petite Hands and Feet for SP, I've re-linked it on the website - sorry about that y'all. In the Morphs & Conversions section.
