Subject: Problems getting Mayadoll & Kaekedo working!

Ok I downloaded both of these and as far as I can tell everything is where it should be. I looked at the readme's and there doesn't seem to be any futher instruction. I downloaded, unziped to the Poser 4 folder and beyond that I really don't know how to fix the problem. I'm really starting to like Posette though. A low maintence person... how can you go wrong? The only thing I can think of to do, is to remove the files and unzip them again. Any suggestions? Kelly PS. On the bright side I also downloaded Sara and she's working almost 100% :)

Which files did you end up in which folders? I have the DSK_Kaedeko.cr2 and rsr files in a folder named Z3D_DSK_Kaedeko under librariescharacter. I don't remember if that's the original one from the zip but any folder under characters should work. The DSK_Kaedeko.obj is in geometriesZ3D. The textures (DOSANKO_HT_head-JP.JPG,etc) are in texturesZ3d. She should show up in your libraries palette under the name of whatever folder the cr2 is in. The Maya Doll filee I think should be geometriesStudioMaya, characterStudioMaya, and TexturesMayaTexture, if I didn't change them.

The most important thing is that the .obj file is placed correctly in your PC, if it isn't Poser will not find it when you try to load the character.

To be absolutely sure, you can open the .cr2 file in a text editor (WordPad or similar). Near the beginning of the text, you will see a reference to the location of the .obj file (the path where to find the file). Make sure that the .obj really is at that location. If it isn't, you cn move it there yourself or you can edit all references to it in the .cr2 file so that they are correct.

if you use winzip, check the far right column, and you should see the names used for the original directories..if it doesnt' unzip right, create the directories manually, sort on the directory names in winzip, and copy out of the zip screen..heaven knows I've had to more than once..;)

Thanks for the help all. It turns out I just put a folder (the same one from each) into the wrong spot. I was attempting to do this at like 4am. Next time I probably shouldn't panic until after I get some rest. :) But you all warned me this was going to be addicting :) Kelly Now lets see how do I get some hair and clothes for these new models!? :)

There are quite a few clothes and links to clothes at the maya doll site.

Do a asearch here in freestuff for "Maya Doll" and you should find some things for her. I suspect that some people here sit in front of their monitors dressed in rags while their Poser characters have fabulous wardrobes.
