Probably the biggest barrier to the cloth room is the utter lack of any kind of relational documentation (ie: just what settings =will= produce a nice, thin silk? Or a thicker velour? Or leather? etc, etc, etc....) Maybe there are enough P5 users out there now to get some kind of analysis project going, preferably something where the results are checked by others, just so you don't get into that 'well, it looks like silk to -me-' stuff. That would be such a help....

I have been playing (word used advisedly) with the cloth room for about (on and off) 1-1/2 years now. In the "documentation" for the cloth room, there are entries for the various dials which give me vague indications about what the various dials for the cloth dynamic controls do. These are about 1 degree removed from useless, since they mostly state things like (for fold resistance - slightly paraphrased) "for silk, a low value (1.0) is appropriate, but leather tends not to fold so a higher value is appropriate". How MUCH higher?? This is like having a thermometer which is graduated but you don't know whether it's for Centigrade or Farenheit. So: Has anyone got any tables or similar that can provide more specific info for settings for particular "cloth" types?? Otherwise it's back to adjust value; do simulation; reload ('cos otherwise P5 runs out of memory resources and hangs); re-adjust value; do simulation; reload... - and that's just for one parameter...) TIA, Cheers, Diolma
