I can't use MojoWorld. Seems companies tend to forget us little folk that still use win 98 but oh well i'll stick with what i can use. No i wont upgrade my OS until i'm sure BG/microsoft will have a better one on the market.

I've downloaded MojoWorld more times than I've had hot dinners, because I love what I've seen produced by it. BUT....I can never figure out how to use it :^( I don't know whether there's something wrong with the wiring in my brain, it just always seems too complicated for ordinary mortals to understand :^( Wish there was an easy way into it, like there is with Bryce, with the presets. I'm not a complete moron - I never had any problems with Terragen, which seems logical and delightful.

Looks awesome...wow.

Lunartick, there's absolutely nothing wrong with windows XP. Now stop living in your cave and update. And ironically, windows 98 was the most unstable of all the windows 9x platforms.

lunartrick, I must say, even though all windows versions are partially crap, it's better then win98 and though I hate xp's 'new' interface, the memory management is way better then in win98 or winME and you can go back to the classic win9x/me look anyways. Also winXP is DEFENITELY more stable then win98 and winME. There isn't really a thing such as a "good" windows version yet, but winXP is the first I didn't regret paying for (though the value for money could still be better). so you might want to consider an upgrade..

guys i would upgrade to win xp but i'm not going to pay anywhere from $180-$249 for home edition OEM or anything upto $400 for xp pro. Thats Australian prices.

pakled ( ) posted Fri, 15 October 2004 at 1:13 PM

hmm..most unstable?..;)I could make a case for Windows 386, Dos 3, and OS2, but I'd only be showing my age..;)

Pogmahone, the new Planet Wizard in MW 3 will make your life very easy indeed. We're always working to improve MojoWorld's usability... -Mo

LunarTick ( ) posted Wed, 20 October 2004 at 11:43 AM

$199.00 USD = $270.58AUD, man will have to stop eating and paying rent for a month to buy it. Can't afford that on what i get weekly :(

Doc Mojo ( ) posted Wed, 20 October 2004 at 11:49 AM

D'OH!!! I hate it the way that the price is so different in different countries... But there's nothing we can think of to do about it. -Mo

LunarTick ( ) posted Wed, 20 October 2004 at 1:12 PM ยท edited Wed, 20 October 2004 at 1:14 PM

Mo i didn't expect that, i'm just pointing out what it would cost me to buy Mojo. Mojo isn't the only program that will cost me heaps Poser, painshop pro 9, photoshop, and many more that i want to get but can't because the price nearly doubles because of the exchange rate. being disabled and on a pesion makes it hard when you want to do things but things are out of your price range

Can't blame the companies for that, i'm just lucky i was able to buy Bryce and paintshop pro 7 when i had the money and the exchange rate was good :)

Yeah, you know we do all our MW programming in New Zealand, but almost no one there can afford to buy it! Now that is a pity! -Mo

Rayraz ( ) posted Wed, 20 October 2004 at 1:55 PM

LunarTick, would it be easier to afford the program if you could pay a bit of the price every month instead of all of it at once? I realize that's a lot to ask from Doc Mo and the pandromeda crew, but just maybe it would actually work or generate a few extra sales even? I know I would defenitely like to pay things that way with monthly payments instead of everything all at once.

Ray that is a good idea but then it would come down to trust, could the person buying the program be trusted enough to pay the full price for it if they did do it that way. Mo not everyone can get a credit card, in my case i can't get one because i'm on a disability pension and don't have enough left at the end of the month, in their books i need $300 saved in my account so banks and credit corps wont give me a credit card. Oh well never mind, can't even use the demo of it cause i don't have 1024 x 768 resolution, another reason why i can't have it. I don't know what is the computer world coming to ;) Mo there's an idea make it so it can be used with any resolution, not just for that one so it gives everyone a chance to use it not just the ones that can use 1024 x 768 resolution ;)

Doc Mojo ( ) posted Thu, 21 October 2004 at 10:14 AM

Well, the fact is, if your machine doesn't sport that kind of resolution, it likely ain't up to runnin' MojoWorld. That's the price of life on the bleeding edge... Apologies! -Mo

Rayraz ( ) posted Thu, 21 October 2004 at 10:21 AM

I think Mojoworld is one of those programs that just really do need just a little processing power (and a reasonably up-to-date vidcard for the RTR) to really be usable :) it works like a dream on my AthlonXP1800+ (which isn't extremely powerfull anymore compared to the standards these days lol)

LunarTick ( ) posted Thu, 21 October 2004 at 11:16 AM ยท edited Thu, 21 October 2004 at 11:17 AM

Doc my computer is an Athlon 1800+, 17" monitor, 128mb radeon 9600 video card, 120 gig hard drive and 512mb ram which will soon be ugraded to 1gig.

Now quoting you "Well, the fact is, if your machine doesn't sport that kind of resolution, it likely ain't up to runnin' MojoWorld"

I think my machine is more than good enought to run Mojoworld don't you.

Recommended system requirements for Mojoworld are:
Windows
Windows 98SE, 2000 or XP
Pentium 3 / Althon Processor - 1GHz or higher
32MB 3D Graphics Card
Open GL
256MB available RAM
350MB hard disk space (typical install)

So going by that, DON'T tell me my machine(computer) ain't up to running Mojoworld.

You can take your foot out of your mouth Doc and by the way, you have bad PR for someone involved with Pandromeda, if you are involved with them.

PS: i was able to install the demo version on my computer but since you think my computer ain't up to running mojoworld i better uninstall it.
Yes i installed it, change the resolution for 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768, installed mojo then change the resolution back to the default setting.

Doc Mojo ( ) posted Thu, 21 October 2004 at 11:54 AM

Sorry! Didn't mean any offense! It's just that I've been addicted to resolutions higher than our minimum since back the mid '80s, when I got used to 1280 x 1024. (I currently run all my machines at 1600 x 1200.) Please pardon my insensitivity! I just presumed that a machine like yours would be run at a higher screen res... -Mo

LunarTick ( ) posted Thu, 21 October 2004 at 12:06 PM

Doc, no problems. I can understand why you would thing that, most people these day use 1024 x 768 resolution. I have tried using mine at that resolution but everything is to small on my screen and it makes reading text hard. Yes even i thought with the video card i have i could use that resolution but i was wrong. Unless there is something i need to change in some setting so that i can use it without having problems seeing things. I'm sorry for the way i replied to your post, i have some back pain at the moment which i'm taking strong painkillers(Morphine based) for it and i tend to get in a bad temper while i'm on them.
