Subject: Looking for that beautiful Victoria hair

Whistler ( ) posted Thu, 30 November 2000 at 11:58 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 6:49 AM

Does anyone have a link for a really good Victoria hair prop other than those listed in Poser Free Stuff, or on the Zygote or Bushi pages? I'm looking for LONG, thick, realistic hair with curls, similar to that in much of Catherine Przezak's beautiful work. Also...has anyone adapted the Poser 4 conformable hair prop for Vicki? And if so, has anyone created transparency and texture maps for it?

The best free hair I've seen is at Digital Babes. You'll have to resize it for the vicki model on your own (it's easy). -JH.

Yes, I've downloaded those and they're great. But I'm looking for a realistic headful of curls! Catherina Przezak obviously has such a prop, but I suspect that she made it herself and isn't handing it around to strangers. And I don't blame her if that's the case, as it's such a distinctive part of the "look" of her renderings and worth protecting.

She may have also done post rendering in Photoshop. Marque

Catherina often uses hair cut-outs from images, not hair props. Try Allie's TransCurls: http://home.wnm.net/~bgriff/allie/

Thanks, I've downloaded the files and will try 'em out tonight!

Try Cosmo hair also--and use cloning, layers and smudging to adapt to anything different than straight on head shots.

What the heck is Cosmo hair? I've heard about it and seen some of the "magic box" renderings, but where do you get it? Is it free or commercial?

Cosmo hair is a program that is usually available at places like Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. It is one of those that allows women/men to view themselves with different hairstyles and makeup. The original ones had .tga files that you could just use with their alpha channels to select and apply in post work in a 2D graphics program. The newer one needs you to use a 'white' background and save the image, then select the hair and add as a layer. There was a demo online. I'll see if I can find it. Diane

Thank you! I'll check it out.

Visual, you can usually find this app in the sale bins at your local computer super store--sometimes around $19.95--depending on the version. The old one (think it came in a purple box) is the easiest, but any are okay--the less 'makeup' and more hair the better. Beware of the ones that say you can see hair from various angles--I understand that that won't help in Poser at all. I do not have that version, so can't be sure. Bet you can find it at a lot of other places on the net too.

Here, Cosmo is on sale for $17.00 http://www.msbcd.com/Promo.asp?ProductCode=22865&ai=99 Does not say which version, but I suspect that it is one of the latest.
