Attached Link: Maxwell Render

As of now,Maya&3dsMax6 can use this renderer as a plug-in.Its called "Maxwell Render", and is being turned into a standalone renderer.Truly amazing if your a render nerd.Go and check out its stats.

I noticed it when browsing 3Dtotal. Looks pretty amazing, and its a lot cheaper then the usual renderers. And it will also be available for cheaper apps like C4D and Lightwave.

Did you see the crazy render functions, my favorite was "specify the render time, and then the program optimizes itself for that specific render time).Talk about cool! that and the fact that its true light simulation, some of those photos on the site are just amazingly real looking.Maybe it will take Rib files as well(bryce 5.5 maybe).

looks good but I'm afraid $1000 will count me out:(

Oops, i definitely mixed up the prise with another app. Youre right, $1000 is not cheap, but what a result! That cartoonish house in the complex geometry section was my favourite. :) Really curious on how that optimization thing works. Sounds crazy indeed. :)

Actually it looks like you can get in now at $395 dollars for the 'Alpha' version, you will then receive updates through June of 2005 where at that point you will apparently have the full 1.0 version. Not a bad deal actually and especially if they follow through on their development to 2005. I would not have understood that had it been marketed by DAZ :)

LOL@ the DAZ comment! I mean come on, look how easy and understandable some of these companys make it.

Maybe Daz will do a renderer overhaul and implement something in this vein of renderer(using real light mathmatics and camera apatures and such). Its a whole lot better than radiosity( or faking it).

Yeah I know, I have to read the DAZ adds about 5 times to fully understand what I am buying. :) I did email Next Limit this evening about format plugins for Bryce, Vue etc. I was quite surprised to receive an email from Victor Gonzalez of Next Limit, they are considering plugs for other programs. Sooooo, if we have any developers here, they may have a chance to write a plug for Bryce or Vue or whatever. :)
