Dear Artists, I posted a bw conversion from a color image photo for critique on the photography forum. Misha improved my attempts dramatically. She used a "Donald" silver curve as part of the postwork. The overall effect was to bring out reflections of clouds in water I "lost" in more simple conversion to bw. Can someone provide a link or info on the "silver curve"? I am still somewhat less than comfortable with Photoshop but manage. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of the "Donald" silver curve, but check out this link. Some absolutely amazing Photoshop actions for converting to BW, as well as toning. SWAMP

Dear karosnikov, Again an excellent website. You folks are very helpful. Thanks. TomDart.

I think a silver curve actually introduces cyan/blue colour cast of about 8% in the mid-tones - it relies on monitor perception as far as i'm concerned.
