Hi everybody! This is the update on my WIP for the CGTalk challenge. Thanks for your response and thanks AgentS that didn't object for us to post the WIPS here in the family :) I've begun to model the scene. Added the pillars and the overhead street and some external elevator shaft on the Palace. The pillars will be very important because they will host the layers of barracks of the poor people attacking the Palace, and from the barracks will depart the ladders, ropes, hooks etc they will use during the attack. Every floor of the Palace will be different, following the idea I had at the beginning: very cluttered near the ground, clearer and clearer as it reach the top levels. Still learning XSI, so I wasn't able to convey that grey-oh-so-elegant-GI-look... have still to figure out how to :) Thanks for your attention. Stefano :)

I like the view from the base looking up best. A great frame to whatever goes on above and gives it an enormous scale.

I like your second POV the most too, Stefano. Nice wireframes and modeling. This is coming along nicely!

@Philip, Danamo: Yes, my final POV will be very similar to the second one. @Coltzero: It's done with XSI 4 Foundation Trial (30 days expiration). I wanted to learn XSI better and took the CGTalk challenge as a great way to do it. Then, when I find myself struggling to find the commands, I almost regret it, LOL... :) Everyone: Thanks a lot to you! If you have any crits and suggestion, I'm here. It's really nice to have you read an OT and take the time to answer. Stefano

Looks good for just getting ahold of the app recently. How are you going to populate it? lots of low poly men maybe?

I eat babies.

Doublecrash ( ) posted Sat, 30 October 2004 at 7:23 AM

Yes, that's it... very low poly. I'm trying to avoid showing some people near the camera, because I still don't have a clue on how to model characters... (ehm...) Stefano

This is looking great Stefano. Glad you are going to use the POV shown in #2. That seems to be most effective and definitely gives a good sense of scale. So far so good.... keep on bud. Is looking great so far. 8)

Wade BTW... why wouldn't we read and reply to one of your OT posts? You are one of the family my friend, even if you are working with other apps. Your heart is still here. 8)

There are 10 kinds of people: Those who know binary, and those who don't.

A whiner is about as useful as a one-legged man at an arse kicking contest.
