I've been messing with the DTE for the last hour or so, and came up with these two textures (worn rock with lichen). I'm never 100% sure what I'm doing in the DTE, but these should work on rocks, if anyone wants them, and if AS thinks they'll be suitable as freebies.

look cool! 2bad i aint doing anything with rocks atm, iam sure i could use that number 2. Number 1 looks a bit radioactive, or its my screen that sees it wrong ^o^ CZ

Pogmahone i spent sometime lastnight looking for a texture like the one on the right to use on some rocks in the WIP i posted on the forum"Post, OOH its big". you know how hard it is to fine things like that :)

Very nice textures Pog! I like 'em both. The worn rock lichen 2 looks like it would look good on basalt columns. After all these years in the DTE I still rely on luck as much as any skill in coming up with a good mat.

Coltzero - yeah, I always wonder if my screen is accurately portraying colours. Don't know how to calibrate it properly. I've seen tutorials, and they give instructions, but not the kind of instructions I need - they assume you know the absolute starting point when staring at your desktop, which I don't :o( But....at the same time.......lichen does sometimes look virulently green. It would just be a question of tweaking that green in the DTE to suit yourself.

LunarTick - if your e-mail addy is on your homepage I'll send them on to you. edit to add - no e-mail address, message me
