Subject: Vue 5 Render Size Limit - The Reply

The following has just been posted on the Vue tech support forum: "Yes, that's actually a limitation in release 5.01. The upcoming release 5.02 (sometime next week) will lift this limitation (as well as fixing most of the problems that have been reported). The reason why this limitation was in there in the first release is because of the massive memory requirements for global illumination and radiosity rendering. 5.02 will let you go beyond the 4096 limit, but will still require a lot of memory to do the job." Good news indeed! Bernie

Excellent news :) Before anybody asks why the next update is 5.02 and not 5.01, the production release of Vue 5 is actually 5.01 already :)

agiel its obvious you work for vue and that is why you are so biased about its and theirs performance. We need unbiased opinions for this forum to truly represent vue.

Of course I am biased (no - I don't work for e-on - funny how every mod in this forum end up being accused to work for e-on). This forum is for people who enjoy having fun with Vue. I happen to like Vue, which explains why I am on this forum. The purpose of the forum is NOT to open the door for complaint after complaint against Vue and e-on. Discussing limitations of the software is fine up to a certain point. My role here is to keep the forum as a welcoming place for users of Vue - not to allow it to become a battleground for anyone who has a problem with it.

There's definitely a difference between discussing problems a user is having with Vue and trying to come up with solutions, or suggestions on how to use the program or even constructive suggestions to E-on, and constant un-productive complaining. If someone dislikes Vue so much that they feel so negative about it, that would be best addressed to E-on directly, rather than a user forum where people come for help in learning and using the software.
