heyas; yeah, this is a pretty common problem.... now if i could just remember how to fix it... ;) where's jeff h? try tracking down which obj file the character is using, (one of the p4 nude female ones, i expect), go into that directory where the obj is, and delete the rsr file that has the same name. then try opening the figure again. btw, you can find the location of the obj by opening the cr2 (any text editor will do). a few lines down is a long pointer to the geometry file.
The extension file type tells where the files must go. Check the contents of each of the files in the Runtime/libraries directory to see which file type goes where. Most files in each directory in the library and in geometries have an .RSR file with the exact same name. PZ3 files are poser files that are created with the main menu and contain props, figures, and links to textures, etc. You open them on the File/Open menu. .OBJ files come in two flavors: A. Props which must be imported from file/import/wavefront.obj and, B. The basis for characters in the library/characters directory. The latter must be put in the exact directory indicated in the instructions (readme) that come with the file. As for the rest: PZ2 = poses HR2 = hair CR2 = characters PP2 = props FC2 = faces Texture files come usually as .BMP, .JPG, or GIF files. They can be put in any directory, normally in the runtime/textures directory. Some downloads have a library file, geometry file, and textures in the same directory. In this case, I move the unzipped directory into the textures directory, then move the other files to their respective libraries or geometry file(s). Poser seems to remember where the textures are that way. Some downloads come in PZ3 files. If they have other files in the same zip, they should be put exactly where the readme files say. About a third of the time, the author of the PZ3 file forgot to include some text file, and poser will ask for it. I just make a blank text file of the same name and go ask the author for a replacement. This lesson took me a year to learn
