Subject: ? Sell work online

TimW ( ) posted Tue, 02 November 2004 at 10:29 AM · edited Sat, 13 July 2024 at 7:51 AM

I was wondering how I might go about selling prints of my work over the internet at some point in the future (When I've got stuff I think is good enough to try and sell). Can anyone give me any tips as to how I might do this? Thanks, TimW

Do you want to print them yourself or locally, or do you want them ordered from a place that prints them on demand? If so, try CafePress.com or check out DeviantArt.com...they have a Print store with a good selection of sizes at good base prices.

Thanks very much for replying... I like the sound of print on demand... will have a look at the sites you mentioned. Thanks again ; )

Try Zazzle.com, as well. They do good quality work. bonni

Thanks very much for the Zazzle tip Bonni. If you don't mind me asking, have you used any of these sites to sell your work and if so have you had much success? Anyone else had any success selling work on these sites?

I haven't had much luck with Zazzle, personally, but I only have a couple images there and I don't do much in the way of promotion. I have heard, though, from people whose work and opinions I trust, that they do excellent quality printing. The person in question likes to have the work printed at her own expense and then she sends it to them, herself. She does it that way because she does all the promotional work from/through her own site. On the occasions when I've wanted my work printed, I've always gone to a local printer for various reasons. I kind of like being able to talk to them about stuff. bonni

I have used CafePress for more than three years and am very satisfied with their T-shirts, Calendars, Mugs, and Hats. If you like, contact me and I'll send you a link to my store and you can see the type of work I've done there.
